Last year, many of you helped support Marcos and Ricardo, two young Cuban immigrants trying to build a life here while waiting for their work permits.
Thanks to your generosity, they made it through.
Now, their families — Lien, Oneida, and Mercedes — are facing the kind of hardship no one should have to endure:
Lien, who is diabetic, and her 74-year-old mother Oneida have lost their only water pump to theft.
Their home is without running water.
Their cupboards are almost bare, and medicine is increasingly out of reach.
Mercedes, Ricardo’s grandmother, survives solely on what little Ricardo can send — but it’s no longer enough.
We’re raising $3,000 to provide food, clean water, and medicine to carry these women through the summer.
